• Rental basis: per calendar day
• Minimum rental period 5 days
• Rates are GROSS, include 12.5% GST
• Rates include Standard Excess Insurance Cover

Rental Information

1) Rates include unlimited kilometres and living equipment at no extra cost. Crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, sleeping bags, pillows and towels. Free Information Pack and special welcome gift.

2) Minimum rental is 5 days. Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis, i.e. day of pick-up is always counted as day 1 irrespective of what time it is collected.

3) Rental Locations are in Auckland and Christchurch. All branches are closed Christmas Day. There is no One-Way charge between rental locations.

4) Minimum age is 21 years. A current national standard drivers licence or international licence is required which must have been valid and held for at least one year. International licences can only be used in conjunction with a national driver's licence.

5) Standard Excess Policy

All KEA Campers vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of $5000 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windscreen or tyre damage. A security bond of $5,000 will be collected on vehicle collection. The security bond can be paid by cash, traveller's cheque or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately. This is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property.

6) Cancellation Fees

25 days before pick-up: No Fee
24 days to 6 days before pick-up: 15% of total hire cost
5 days to 0 days and no show: 50% of total hire cost
If vehicle is returned early: No refund available.

KEA CAMPERS offer the following (2) options to reduce or waive the Standard Excess:

• Excess Reduction 1:
  KEA Campers Excess Reduction 1 at $25.00 per day will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of $2,000. The hirer, however, will be fully liable for replacement or repair of any windscreen or tyre damage. The bond can be paid by cash. Travellers cheque or credit card. This is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the KEA campers vehicle or third party property. Charge is limited to $1,250.00 - 50 days.
• Excess Reduction 2:
  Excess Reduction 2 at $35.00 per day will waive the excess for any single vehicle damage, third party property damage or cost of replacement or repaid of windscreen and tyres. However, a security bond of $250.00 is payable at the time of pickup to ensure that the vehicle is returned to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition and with the toilet cassette and waste water tank empty. In the event of an accident a bond payment of $2000.00 is required and the hire will be liable with this excess of any subsequent damage which may occur to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property. Charge is limited to $1,750.00 - max 50 days.

Change of Vehicle: If, for reasons beyond Kea Campers control, the reserved vehicle is not available, they reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to any form of refund.
