Descend through thick stands of native beech to the West Coast, perhaps New Zealand's last frontier. Your destination, Greymouth, is a great base for exploring this unspoiled regionwith its mighty glaciers, wild rivers and famous Punakaiki pancake rocks. Stop over for a day or two and go adventuring. And take the opportunity to sample some of the 'wild food' the Coast is famous for including venison, boar and whitebait.

You'll always travel in comfort as all the Tranz Scenic train carriages are carpeted, centrally heated and air conditioned. Your seats recline and the panoramic windows allow you to sit back and enjoy the ever-changing views.
All trains include an open air viewing area allowing for better views and to take in the clean, fresh air. All trains have a buffet carriage with a wide selection of light meals, sandwiches, snacks and beverages. All trains are licensed and offer quality local beer and wine.
