ONTARIO FUN & RELAXATION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This two week tour is designed for those who prefer a more relaxing holiday – with multi day stays in Toronto and Niagara that allows plenty of time to explore the sights at your own pace. Ideal for families, the six night stay at Elmhirst’s Resort, provides everything a family could want – sandy beaches to laze the day away – or a full activity programme to keep children of all ages entertained!

Day 1 - Toronto
Arrive at Toronto Airport and transfer (included) to your hotel. Collect your documentation pack at the front desk as you check in. The remainder of the day is free to explore. Overnight in Toronto.

Day 2 & 3 - Toronto
Two free days to explore the city. Toronto offers colourful neighbourhoods, world class shopping, fine cuisine and multiple recreational activities. Explore the waterfront area, where you will find colourful shops, galleries, outdoor theatres, restaurants and bars and the downtown core with its many galleries and shopping districts. The CN Tower is a “must see” for all visitors, travel to the observation deck in one of six glass fronted high-speed elevators for spectacular views of the city, the suburbs, the lake and its shoreline. Overnight in Toronto.

Day 3 - Toronto to Niagara (95 miles)
Collect your car this morning and begin your journey to one of Seven Wonders of the World. Your drive takes your south through the Niagara Peninsula and along the Niagara Parkway to the fabulous Falls. On arrival check in at you hotel and the rest of the day is free to explore the area. Overnight in Niagara.

Day 4 - Ottawa to Quebec City
This morning you will travel along the scenic Ottawa River to the French-speaking province of Quebec. Today’s journey ends in Quebec’s cultural heartland, Quebec City. Enjoy a tour within the walls of the old city and view the ornate city gates, Lower Town, the Citadel and Battlefields Park. Overnight in Quebec City at the Hotel Classique Ste Foy or Hotel Ambassadeur or similar. (Meals included: breakfast)

Day 5 - Niagara
A free day to explore the Falls from a variety of angles. Included in your package is admission to the Maid of the Mist a thrilling boat ride that takes you to the very foot of the Falls and a helicopter ride over the Falls to see the majesty of the region from a completely different perspective. Overnight in Niagara Falls.

Day 6 - Niagara to Elmhirst’s Resort (190 miles)
Today’s drive takes you north, past Toronto and into Ontario’s ‘cottage country’ and the Elmhirst’s Resort located on the shore of Rice Lake.

Your home for the next six nights is in a wonderful cottage located on the waterfront, with a scenic view. All cottages feature a fully equipped kitchen with microwave oven, dishes and cooking utensils, toaster, automatic coffee maker, fridge and stove. Wood burning, open-hearth fireplaces (wood provided), colour television and VCR, CD stereo player and telephone with modem located in each living room. Bedding and towels are supplied. Each deck has a gas barbecue, patio furniture, picnic table on the lawn and private dock. Parking is adjacent to each unit

The Main Lodge is the focal point of the Resort, often referred to as the lodge, is best known for the Hearthside Room, a place for dining beside a scenic view of Rice Lake, and the Wild Blue Yonder Pub, a place to meet for a drink, game of darts, or snack.

Day 7-11 - Elmhirst’s Resort
Five full days to be as active or inactive as you choose. The lakeside location is perfect for spending lazy days on the beach or on your private dock. For those who prefer to be more active, the resort is home to an abundance of activities to keep the whole family entertained. From horse rides, to water sports, to tennis, to bikes and hikes. The resort is also perfectly located to explore more of Ontario, perhaps you could take a day trip to the Georgian Bay or Algonquin National Park! Overnight at Elmhirst’s Resort.

Day 12 - Elmhirst’s Resort to Toronto (90 miles)
The time has come for some last minute shopping and to say farewell to Canada. Your tour ends with the checkout from your hotel

Day 13 - Elmhirst’s Resort to Toronto (90 miles)
Return your car to Toronto Airport, where sadly your tour comes to an end..

Explore the provinces of Ontario and Quebec on this two-week holiday, taking in the highlights of Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and Ottawa. The circular route travels along Lake Ontario from Toronto to the Thousand Islands resort region, then east to taste the unique flavour of French Canada in the province of Quebec.

Day 1 - Toronto
On arrival in Toronto, collect your car and drive to your downtown hotel. After checking in at your hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Toronto at the Days Hotel Downtown.

Day 2 - Toronto
Enjoy the entire day in and around Toronto. Overnight in Toronto at the Days Hotel Downtown.

Day 3 - Toronto to Niagara Falls (80 miles)
Today’s route leads south. Take some time to browse through the quaint shops and boutiques of Niagara-on-the-Lake before continuing along the scenic Niagara Parkway to Niagara Falls. Overnight in Niagara Falls at Michael’s Inn.

Optional Activity - Put on your rain jacket and step aboard for the ride of a lifetime! The Maid of the Mist will take you to the American Falls before sailing past massive rock formations to the magnificent sight of the thundering Horseshoe Falls.

Day 4 - Niagara Falls to Kitchener (90 miles)
This charming rural region is world renowned for its natural beauty, the valley offers over 30 miles of community trails for hiking, jogging, cycling, or bird watching. Overnight at the Comfort Inn Kitchener.

Day 5 - Kitchner to Midland (140 miles)
Travelling north to the shores of Georgian Bay to the rural town of Midland - your gateway to the picturesque 30,000 islands. Overnight in Midland at the Best Western Highland Inn.

Day 6 - Midland to Pembroke (100 miles)
Venturing further east today you’ll enter the Pembroke / Ottawa Valley region. Take some time to explore the vast wilderness of Algonquin Provincial Park on the way. Overnight at the Best Western Pembroke Inn.

Day 7 - Pembroke to Ottawa (100 miles)
Enjoy a scenic drive along the Quebec-Ontario border, and pass typical rural towns. Overnight in Ottawa at the Capital Hill Hotel & Suites.

Optional Activity - Float down the picturesque Rideau Canal, North America’s oldest operating 19th-century canal, and one of the most recognisable sights of Canada’s capital. Built in 1832, as a military supply route between Lake Ontario and the Ottawa River, the canal today is a recreational waterway, lined with parks and a network of trails. The custom-built canal tour boat features commentary throughout.

Day 8 - Ottawa to Tremblant (110 miles)
Today your adventure will take a distinctly different turn. You’ll head north into the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. Visiting St. Jovite and Mont- Tremblant Park, Quebec's oldest provincial park, offering scenic beauty, that attracts travellers from around the world. Arrive at the resort of Tremblant, and stroll through the beautiful pedestrian village. Overnight at Les Suites Tremblant.

Day 9 - Tremblant
A free day to explore the resort & relax at leisure.

Day 10 - Tremblant to Quebec City (245 miles)
Today you’ll be entranced with Quebec City - Canada's oldest city and North America’s cradle of French heritage. Overnight in Quebec City at the Hotel Classique Ste-Foy.

Day 11 - Quebec City
A free day for you to discover Quebec City. Overnight at the Hotel Classique Ste-Foy.

Optional Activity - Take part in a sightseeing tour providing a comprehensive orientation of historic and modern Quebec City. You will see the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Citadel, the Fortifications, the National Assembly, Place Royale, the Basilica and other points of interest within the city.

Day12 - Quebec City To Montreal (160 miles)
This morning you will follow the St. Lawrence river southwest to the thriving city of Montreal. Spend the evening exploring this cosmopolitan centre's bustling nightlife and gourmet restaurants. Overnight in Montreal at the Hotel Lord Berri.

Day 13 - Montreal To Kingston (230 miles)
Departing from Montreal, you will drive west across the border back to Ontario. You’re entering the beautiful Thousand Islands region, where forested islands lie amid tranquil lakes. Overnight at the Days Inn Kingston.

Optional Activity - Take to the water and step aboard a cruiser to explore the magnificent scenery of the Thousand Islands. This wonderfully lush island landscape is dotted with luxurious cottages and vast estates. The cruise will take you past Boldt Castle, Zavikon Island and Millionaire’s Row.

Day 14 - End Of Tour (160 miles)
Take a leisurely drive along Lake Ontario and return to Toronto's International Airport to return your car and check in for your return flight. (Please take into account the distance you have to drive today when arranging your flight times.)

There’s a lot of family adventure to be found in Northern Ontario, and this spectacular itinerary bundles it all together. Included is a two day resort retreat on the world’s largest freshwater island – Manitoulin and then two days of relaxing amid the picturesque Muskoka Lakes Region.

Day 1 - Toronto
Arrive at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. Transfer independently to your downtown hotel. After checking in at your hotel the remaining hours are yours to explore. Enjoy the fine cuisine, varied nightlife and world-class shopping of Toronto. Overnight in Toronto at the Delta Chelsea Hotel or similar..

Day 2 - Toronto - Free Day
Today is free to discover the dynamic and cosmopolitan city of Toronto. Highlights include the CN Tower, spectacular SkyDome, Ontario Place, the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Ontario Science Centre & much more. Admission to the CN Tower is included. Overnight at the Delta Chelsea Hotel or similar.

Day 3 - Toronto - Free Day

Day 4 - Toronto to Niagara Falls (80 miles)
Today's route leads south, skirting the Niagara Escarpment and traversing the orchards and vineyards of the Niagara Peninsula. You will discover the historic village of Niagara-on-the-Lake proudly displaying its 19th century heritage. Take some time to browse through the quaint shops and boutiques before continuing along the scenic Niagara Parkway to Niagara Falls. Overnight at the Best Western Cairn Croft or similar.

Day 5 - Niagara Falls (Free Day)
A free day to explore the Falls. Included is a ride on the Maid of the Mist to the magnificent sight of the thundering Horseshoe Falls. As the Maid of the Mist battles the waters, take advantage of the unsurpassed photo opportunities. Overnight at the Best Western Cairn Croft or similar..

Day 6 - Niagara Falls to Blue Mountain (150 miles)
There are several alternative routes to Blue Mountain – via Kitchener and Beaver Valley or along the shores of Lake Huron – all leading to the largest mountain resort in Ontario. Spend some time on the award-winning golf course, or take a gondola ride up the breathtaking mountain escarpment. Enjoy an evening in The Village. Overnight in Blue Mountain at the Westin Trillium House or similar.

Day 7 - Blue Mountain to Manitoulin Island (120 miles + ferry)
Today you’ll drive through the picturesque Bruce Peninsula to Tobermory before boarding a ferry for a two-hour cruise to South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island. The world’s largest freshwater island, Manitoulin contains five native reservations and one of the oldest settlements in North America, dating back 9,500 years. Spend your day enjoying the variety of adventure activities available at the resort. Overnight on Manitoulin Island.

Day 8 - Manitoulin Island (Free Day)
A free day to explore Manitoulin Island and it’s many lakes. Overnight on Manitoulin Island.

Day 9 - Manitoulin Island to Killarney Provincial Park (175 miles)
Crossing back to the mainland via Little Current you’ll travel through the lakes and woodland areas to Sudbury. Arriving at on the north shore of Georgian Bay, you’ll wind down your day with a choice of activities at your resort. Overnight in Killarney Provincial Park at the Killarney Mountain Lodge. Dinner is included tonight.

Day 10 - Killarney Provincial Park (Free Day)
Known for its superb camping, Killarney Provincial Park also offers excellent canoeing and hiking trails. Overnight at the Killarney Mountain Lodge. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 11 - Killarney Provincial Park to Huntsville (170 miles)
In the morning, travel south to arrive in Huntsville and spend some time relaxing on the waterfront of Peninsula Lake. If you are the more adventurous type, peddle boats, windsurfers, kayaks, mountain bikes, and fishing rods are all available for use. Overnight in Huntsville at the Pow Wow Point Lodge or similar. Breakfast included.

Day 12 - Huntsville & Algonquin Provincial Park
The day is at your leisure to explore Huntsville and the surrounding area. You could also venture into the wilds of Algonquin Provincial Park to hike through the pristine forests or canoe on the sparkling clean lakes. Overnight at the Pow Wow Point Lodge or similar.

Day 13 - Huntsville to Toronto (140 miles)
Take a leisurely drive down through Southern Ontario and return to the Toronto area for one final afternoon of urban discovery. Overnight at the Delta Chelsea Hotel or similar.

Day 14 - End of Tour
Return to Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to check-in for your return flight.
