Day 1 Arrive Melbourne
On arrival in Melbourne, you will be transferred by private car from the Airport to your hotel. After checking in at your hotel, the remainder of the day is free for you to explore. Overnight at the Vibe Savoy Hotel.
Day 2 Melbourne
A morning sightseeing tour will introduce you to the sights of Melbourne. Cross the West Gate Bridge for amazing city views. See Bourke Street Mall, tree-lined Collins Street, Federation Square and the spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens. The afternoon is at your leisure. Overnight at the Vibe Savoy Hotel.
Day 3 Melbourne to Apollo Bay (122 miles)
After breakfast (included), make your way to the downtown Hertz office to collect your rental car and begin your scenic drive to Apollo Bay. Pass the bayside suburb of Geelong and continue on to Torquay where you will join the Great Ocean Road. This magnificent road offers some of the most spectacular coastal views in Australia. Travel past famous Bells Beach and enjoy the scenery as you pass wide beaches, dramatic cliffs and idyllic coves. Overnight at Apollo Bay at Captains at the Bay. Day 4 Apollo Bay (Free Day) The day is free for you to explore Apollo Bay, which is set on the coast with excellent surfing and swimming beaches and the Otway Ranges as a backdrop. Overnight at Apollo Bay at Captains at the Bay.
Day 5 Apollo Bay to Port Fairy (131 miles)
After crossing the spectacular Otway Ranges, you’ll arrive at Port Campbell National Park, an area of immense beauty. See the power of the ocean at work at the Twelve Apostles, a row of great stone pillars— the most spectacular landmark on the Victorian coastline. See the remains of London Bridge. Travel past Warrnambool, arriving at the historic fishing village of Port Fairy this afternoon. Overnight at Oscars Waterfront Boutique Hotel.
Day 6 Port Fairy (Free Day)
The day is free to explore this former whaling port located at the estuary of the Moyne River. Port Fairy is a holiday resort bordered by both river and ocean and is home to a large fishing fleet. Overnight at Oscars Waterfront Boutique Hotel.
Day 7 Port Fairy to Coonawarra (140 Miles)
Travel from Port Fairy west today towards the South Australian border and up the Limestone Coast region to the Coonawarra wine district with many fine vineyards to explore. Overnight at the Chardonnay Lodge.
Day 8 Coonawarra
A free day to explore Coonawarra and the surrounding area. Overnight at the Chardonnay Lodge.
Day 9 Coonawarra to Adelaide (240 miles)
Head towards Adelaide today, travelling via Keith, Murrays Bridge enroute to Adelaide and check into your hotel. Return your car to the city office of Hertz. Overnight in Adelaide at the Stamford Plaza Hotel.
Day 10 Adelaide
Today you will enjoy a full day sightseeing tour to the Barossa Valley. First stop in the morning will be at the Whispering Wall prior to enjoying morning tea at Lyndoch Bakery. Learn the winemaking process on a guided 'Behind the Scenes' tour at Richmond Grove Wines, located in a charming historic chateau built in 1897. Continue to Kaesler Restaurant for lunch (included). After lunch travel through the old mill town of Woodside and the Adelaide Hills and visit Australia's oldest German settlement, Hahndorf, with its arts and craft, shops, pubs, traditional small goods and bakeries evokes the tastes and smells of Bavaria. Return to Adelaide for your overnight stay.
Day 11 Depart Adelaide
You will be transferred to the airport by shuttle coach, where your tour comes to an end.
