Day 1 Arrive Darwin

On arrival in Darwin, you will be transferred by private car from the Airport to your hotel. After checking in at your hotel, the remainder of the day is free to explore Darwin. Overnight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

 

Day 2 Darwin

A free morning, before joining a city tour this afternoon, the perfect introduction to Darwin. See the Chinese Temple and the lush Botanical Gardens. Tour the historic sites of the city including the East Point Military Precinct. See the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the Mooring Basin. After your tour you will be dropped off at Cullen Bay Marina for a cruise on magnificent Darwin Harbour, enjoy a beautiful sunset in paradise and a unique interactive cultural experience. After the cruise you will need to make your own way back to your accommodation. Overnight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

 

Day 3 Darwin to Kakadu (160 miles)

This morning collect your rental car and depart Darwin to Jabiru in the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Birdwatchers and nature lovers should stop along the way at the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and a jumping crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River. Spend the night in the township of Jabiru. Overnight at the Gagudju Holiday lnn.

 

Day 4 Kakadu (free day)

A free day to explore the Kakadu area. There are many Aboriginal rock art sites, walks to escarpment lookouts, waterfalls and impressive visitor centres. Perhaps you could join a river or billabong cruise, the best place to experience Kakadu's prolific wildlife with a local Aboriginal guide. Overnight at the Gagudju Holiday lnn.

 

Day 5 Kakadu to Katherine (190 miles)

Travel 30 kilometres out of Katherine and discover the natural wilderness of Nitmiluk National Park. Check out the diverse range of Aboriginal artwork on offer at one of Katherine's galleries or take a cool dip at Edith Falls, a large pandanusfringed plunge pool. Overnight at the All Seasons Katherine Hotel.

 

Day 6 Katherine to Kununurra (319 miles)

Depart Katherine and join the Victoria Highway to Kununurra. On the way perhaps stop at Gregory National Park where the red of the Centre blends gently with the green of the Top End. Cross the Western Australia border to Kununurra, the gateway to the Kimberley's from the East. Overnight at the All Seasons Kununurra.

 

Day 7 Kununurra (free day)

A free day to explore. Two key attractions contributing to the character of Kununurra, are the Argyle Diamond Mine and the Ord River Scheme, a massive irrigation project harnessing the rivers of the Kimberley. With good accessibility to the striped formations of the Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park, the township also serves as a base for exploring the region's many other attractions. Overnight at the All Seasons Kununurra.

 

Day 8 Kununurra to Fitzroy Crossing (407miles)

Today you will travel the Great Northern Highway to Fitzroy Crossing. Overnight at the Fitzroy Crossing Hotel.

 

Day 9 Fitzroy Crossing (free day)

A day at leisure to explore Fitzroy Crossing, a growing outback and a base for visiting Kimberley attractions, local conditions should be checked first as roads are subject to seasonal flooding. Overnight at the Fitzroy Crossing Hotel.

 

Day 10 Fitzroy Crossing to Broome (247 miles)

Today’s drive brings you to Broome, a sunny paradise of white sandy beaches and pristine turquoise waters that now attracts tourists from around the world. Overnight at the Mercure Broome.

 

Day 11 Broome (free day)

A free day to relax or explore. Overnight at the Mercure Broome. Day 12 Depart Broome Return your car to the airport prior to checking in for your onward flight.
