Rock, Reef & South Australia - 16 Days

 

 

 

 

 

Explore the highlights of Australia in under three weeks, an ideal tour for the first time visitor. A leisurely pace with with 2 or 3 nights in most cities gives the opportunity to explore each city in full.

Day 1 - Arrive Sydney
On arrival you will be met and transferred from the airport to your hotel. The remainder of day is at leisure to explore, before a Welcome Drink tonight. Check in for a 3 night stay at the Sydney Sofitel Wentworth.

Day 2 - Sydney, Manly & Harbour Cruise
Travel over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to see the northern beaches. Stop for morning tea (not included) at Manly and stroll The Corso. Then join a Sydney Harbour luncheon cruise, passing the Sydney Opera House, one of the modern wonders of the world and the historic harbour bridge. This afternoon is free to explore. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch)

Day 3 - Sydney
Today is a free day to explore Sydney and its regions on your own. Perhaps discover the Blue Mountains, Jenolan Caves or the Hunter Valley and its famous wineries. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 4 - Sydney to Cairns
Collect your car from the Budget Sydney City depot office and begin your drive south on Highway 1 (Princess Highway). Continue on the highway before taking the turnoff to Jervis Bay in time for a late afternoon swim or surf. Jervis Bay, is famed for its white sand, its clear water and its friendly dolphins. In the bay itself, the tranquil water and great beaches are ideal for all the family. The main town on the bay is Huskisson where you stay tonight at the Dolphin Sands B&B.

Day 5 - Cairns & Great Barrier Reef
Take a cruise out to the ribbon reefs located at the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. The Agincourt Ribbon Reef system provides coral formations, colourful marine life and great underwater visibility. There are facilities for swimmers and non-swimmers. Explore the reef from a semi-submersible, an underwater observatory or snorkel and dive. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch).

Day 6 - Cairns
Today is yours to do with as you wish. Perhaps take an optional tour to Kuranda – ride the Skyrail Cableway over the rain forest to see the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers. Then take the Kuranda Scenic Railway, travelling through tropical rain forest and past waterfalls (excursions not included). (Meals included: Breakfast). .

Day 7 - Cairns to Ayers Rock*
After breakfast, depart for your flight to Ayers Rock, (*airfare not included). On arrival in Ayers Rock, be transferred from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore. This evening enjoy the exclusive ‘Sounds of Silence Dinner’ and savour a unique taste of the Outback. Overnight at Ayers Rock Resort, Desert Gardens Hotel. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 8 - Uluru Base Tour & Kata Tjuta (Olgas)
This morning, after breakfast, join a guided walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu and undertake the Mala Walk, touring the base of Uluru. See caves, ancient Aboriginal rock art and sacred Kantju Gorge. Visit the Cultural Centre and perhaps see Aboriginal artists at work at the Maruku Arts and Crafts Cooperative. This afternoon travel to Kata Tjuta and walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge, learning about the ecology of the area. (Meals included: Breakfast)

Day 9 - Uluru to Alice Springs
After a leisurely breakfast, travel from Uluru to the township of Alice Springs, stopping along the way at the Outback Camel Farm where you may like to take the opportunity to ride a camel (not included). Arriving this afternoon in the iconic Outback town of ‘Alice’, take a town tour and see the Royal Flying Doctor Service Base and the School of the Air before heading to the top of Anzac Hill for wonderful views. Overnight in Alice Springs at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 10 - Alice Springs to Adelaide*
Fly on to Adelaide (*airfare not included) and be transferred from the airport to your hotel upon arrival. Today you’ll enjoy a tour of the historic city of Adelaide. Adelaide is the only major metropolis in the world where the city centre is completely encircled by parkland and gardens, which create a peaceful atmosphere and a green outlook from every angle. Overnight at the Holiday Inn on Hindley. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 11 - Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Kingscote (airfare included). Meet your local guide for an introduction to Kangaroo Island. The first stop for the day is the Eucalyptus Distillery before enjoying morning tea. Then travel to Seal Bay for a stroll near an endangered Australian Sea Lion colony with your trained guide before a picnic lunch. Afterwards explore wild trails, home to koalas and a variety of birds. Journey to the majestic Kelly Hill Caves and discover the underground caves. In Kelly Hill Conservation Park, only accessible by special permit, watch as kangaroos, wallabies and other wildlife leave the bush at dusk to graze on the open plains. Enjoy a night’s stay at Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat (or similar). (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 12 - Kangaroo Island
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast then join your guide on the short journey down the road to Flinders Chase National Park. Explore the visitor centre at Rocky River Headquarters. Spend the remainder of the morning observing the fur seals frolicking in the wild ocean at the base of Cape du Couedic and in the amazing geological formation that is Admirals Arch. You’ll also get to walk among the phenomenon that is the Remarkable Rocks. Enjoy a picnic lunch among tall gum trees, then travel to the spectacular north coast of the island to explore beaches and walk on bush tracks in search of the elusive Kangaroo Island Glossy Black cockatoo. Kangaroos, wallabies and koalas also abound. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Day 13 - Kangaroo Island to Melbourne*
Be transferred to the airport for your flight to Melbourne, (*airfare included to Adelaide, not included to Melbourne). On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Your next 3 nights are at the Swanston Melbourne, Grand Mercure. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 14 - Melbourne
Discover the delights of cosmopolitan Melbourne, with its historic buildings on a city tour this morning. View the up-market shopping district of Collins Street, St Paul’s Cathedral and both the Princess and Regent theatres. See the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Buildings, Federation Square and stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens. Explore Captain Cook’s cottage in Fitzroy Gardens before visiting the Queen Victoria Market. See Melbourne’s famous sporting arenas, including the MCG before paying tribute to Australian soldiers at the Shrine of Remembrance. Then cross the West Gate Bridge for city views. (Meals included: Dinner).

Day 15 - Melbourne
Today is yours to do with as you wish in beautiful Melbourne. Perhaps take an optional tour to visit the wineries of the Yarra Valley for some wine tastings or travel to the magnificent Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles and London Bridge (not included). (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 16 - End of tour

Day 1 - Arrive Darwin
On arrival in Darwin, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight at the Holiday Inn Darwin. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 2 - Darwin to Kakadu National Park
Today you journey to Kakadu National Park, World Heritage listed for its cultural and natural significance. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre, cruise Yellow Water billabong which is a unique opportunity to experience this diverse and sublimely beautiful area and it's associated wildlife. You will also see Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. Overnight in Kakadu National Park at the Aurora Kakadu. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch).

Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin
See ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, with an Aboriginal guide cruise the East Alligator River, spotting wildlife and the fearsome saltwater crocodile. Take a short walk into Arnhem Land before returning to Darwin. Overnight at the Holiday Inn Darwin. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch).

Day 4 - Darwin to Ayers Rock Resort*
Transfer to the airport and fly to Ayers Rock Resort (*airfare not included). On arrival you will enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a region that has been inhabited for the past 22,000 years by the Anangu people. Travel to Kata Tjuta and walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Admire the sheer walls that flank you as you follow the creek bed into the gorge. Learn of the fascinating myths and legends of this sacred place. You then return to Uluru (Ayers Rock) late in the afternoon. Enjoy a glass of wine as you admire the ever-changing colours of Uluru at sunset. Overnight at Ayers Rock Resort in the Outback Pioneer Hotel. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 5 - Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Watch the sunrise over Uluru with a tea or coffee in hand. Next, take a walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu before joining a guided Mala Walk, visiting traditional art sites and learning of the region’s geology and flora. Alternatively, forgo the Mutitjulu and Mala walks to climb Uluru and take in the splendid views of the surrounding desert plain. Visit the Cultural Centre before travelling to Kings Canyon. Overnight at the Kings Canyon Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 6 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Today you can choose the sightseeing option most suited to you. Choose from two guided walks at Kings Canyon. Walk to the canyon rim, through the ‘Lost City’ to the ‘Garden of Eden’. Or follow the canyon floor to discover the local flora. En route to Alice Springs, you will stop at Kings Creek Station, a working cattle station, with an opportunity to ride a camel (not included). Overnight at the Palm Court, Alice Springs Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast)..

Day 7 - Alice Springs to Cairns*
Spend the morning at leisure in Alice Springs before transferring to the airport to join your flight to the tropical city of Cairns (*airfare not included). On arrival in Cairns, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight at the Hotel Cairns..

Day 8 - Cairns & Port Douglas
Take one of Australia's most spectacular drives to the resort town of Port Douglas. You then journey to Kuranda, a village in the rainforest where you can wander the local markets. Tonight experience the Tjapukai by Night, a show where guests become an interactive part of an ancient corroboree (traditional dance) ritual climaxing in the ceremonial making of a fire. Then, be led down a flame-lit path to enjoy a dinner banquet of the region's best food. Return to Cairns for your overnight stay. Overnight at the Hotel Cairns. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner)

Day 9 - Cairns to Daydream Island
Travel south through Cardwell with views of the coast to Townsville, Queensland’s largest tropical city. At Shute Harbour join a cruise through the idyllic Whitsunday Passage to Daydream Island, part of the Great Barrier Reef. Check in for a two night stay at Daydream Island Resort and Spa. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 10 - The Great Barrier Reef Experience
Voyage to the heart of the Great Barrier Reef aboard a high speed catamaran. Arrive at Reefworld, one of the largest reef pontoons in Australia and enjoy a reef education presentation and view the spectacular schools of tropical fish from the Underwater Observatory and the semi-submersible vessel. For the more adventurous, follow a snorkelling trail and view the coral and sea life up close. Or simply relax on the sundeck and enjoy the amazing 360° view of the Great Barrier Reef. Day 11 - Daydream Island to Rockhampton
Today cruise back to the mainland. Visit Mackay, the ‘sugar capital’ of Australia, before heading to Rockhampton. Overnight at the Rockhampton Plaza Hotel. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 12 - Rockhampton to Hervey Bay
Cross the Tropic of Capricorn at Rockhampton on your way to the coastal town of Hervey Bay. Check in for a two night stay at the Mantra Hervey Bay, overlooking the boat harbour. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 13 - Fraser Island by 4-Wheel Drive
Cruise to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island and explore the world’s largest sand island by 4-wheel-drive vehicle. Discover unspoilt surf beaches, pristine inland lakes and lush tropical rainforest. On your return cruise to Hervey Bay, watch for whales (Aug – Oct only). (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch).

Day 14 - Hervey Bay to Moreton Island
Visit the renowned Australia Zoo, made famous by ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin. Watch the feeding of the crocodiles who 'have a go' at the keepers or interact with many native animals, including koalas, that the handlers are walking around the zoo with. Cruise to Moreton Island National Park and check in at the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 15 - Tangalooma Free Day
A free day today. Perhaps to snorkel around the shipwrecks, try sand tobogganing or take a 4WD tour (activities at own expense). Tonight interact with the dolphins that swim close to shore. (Meals included: Breakfast). .

Day 16 - Tangalooma to Brisbane & Surfers Paradise
Arrive in Brisbane this morning, enjoy a brief city tour then enjoy time at the popular holiday area of Surfers Paradise. Continue south over the border and stroll along the pristine beach located at the doorstep of our hotel as the sunsets. Overnight in Kingscliffe at the Mantra on Salt Beach. Day 17 - Kingscliff to Port Macquarie
Enjoy a morning drive to Byron Bay, a coastal town renowned for its superb surf beaches that has attracted both wealthy city dwellers looking to escape the city as well as the bohemian lifestylers. Watch the surfers and maybe even see dolphins off the point, and see the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Travel via the Central Coast en route to Port Macquarie, situated on the mouth of the Hastings River. Day 18 - Port Macquarie to Sydney

Day 7 - Uluru to Cairns*

Day 8 - Great Barrier Reef Full Day Cruise
Enjoy a full day cruise to the Great Barrier Reef. Take the opportunity to swim and snorkel, or board the semi-submersible viewer for an underwater adventure. Enjoy a buffet lunch of hot and cold dishes, fresh seafood, salads and tropical fruits. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch).

Day 9 - Cairns (free day)
A free day to relax or explore. Excursions you may choose to join are the Skyrail Cableway and enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding rainforest canopy, see the performance of the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers and visit the wildlife enclosure. Alternatively, perhaps explore Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest (excursions not included). (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 10 - Cairns to Sydney*

Day 11 - Sydney

Day 12 - Sydney (free day)

Day 3 - Byron Bay to Brisbane & Moreton Island
Today a short drive takes you to Brisbane. Enjoy time to explore the shops or take a leisurely stroll across the Brisbane River to Southbank. Continue your journey to Moreton Island where you check in for a 2 night stay at the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner)..

Day 4 - Moreton Island
Enjoy a full day to explore this beautiful island. Tonight is a highlight of your tour, an opportunity to interact with the dolphins that swim close to shore. Most evenings, dolphins swim up to the beach, where they are rewarded with fresh fish hand-fed to them. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 5 - Moreton Island to Hervey Bay
Return to the mainland and visit renowned Australia Zoo, made famous by ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin. After your visit continue your journey through the picturesque Sunshine Coast to the coastal town of Hervey Bay, a popular tourist destination, especially in whale watching season (Aug-Oct) when humpback whales can be seen playing offshore. Overnight in Hervey Bay at the Mantra Hervey Bay. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 6 - Fraser Island
This morning you will enjoy a cruise to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, home to uninterrupted white beaches, striking coloured sand cliffs and over 100 freshwater lakes. Enjoy the chance to explore the world’s largest sand island in specially-designed 4WD vehicles. Return to Hervey Bay for your overnight stay. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch).

Day 7 - Fraser Island to Rockhampton
Journey to the city of Rockhampton, located on the Tropic of Capricorn. Take a leisurely stroll around the Botanical Gardens, regarded among the best in regional Australia. Overnight at the Rockhampton Plaza Hotel. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner)

Day 8 - Rockhampton to Daydream Island
This morning your journey takes you to Mackay and stunning Airlie Beach, gateway to the 74 idyllic islands of the Whitsunday Passage. Cruise to Daydream Island, part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and described as the jewel of the Whitsunday Islands. Overnight at the Daydream Island Resort and Spa. Day 9 - Great Barrier Reef

Tour to Uluru, for a guided walk to Mutijulu, a permanent spring then visit the painted caves of the Mala people, and learn about they lived and prepared for ceremonies at the base of Uluru. Tour around the base of Uluru and learn about the Aboriginal cultural importance of the monolith. Visit to the Uluru Cultural Centre and learn about the history, environment and Aboriginal culture. Day 4 - Uluru to Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge
Re-enter the national park and tour to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Enjoy panoramic views of the domes and walk into Walpa (Olga Gorge). Travel to Kings Creek Station this afternoon to reach the exclusive Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge, located in an exclusive part of the station amongst the desert oak trees that are unique to the region. The region is part of the Western MacDonnell National Park and home to a number of relict plants from a tropical past and endangered wildlife. Day 7 - Alice Springs & Area Sightseeing
Travel through the Western MacDonnell ranges to Finke Gorge National Park and follow and the ancient Finke River into Palm Valley, home to a diverse range of plant species. Stop at Historic Hermannsburg founded by the Lutheran Missionaries. Walk through the art gallery and learn about the history of some world renowned Aboriginal artists. Day 3 - Katherine to Kakadu National Park
Travel north to the old mining town of Pine Creek and enter Kakadu National Park. Tour deep into Kakadu to Gumlon Falls where there is an opportunity to swim in the large waterhole at the base of the falls. Gumlon was site for the filming of Crocodile Dundee. Visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural centre followed by sunset cruise on Yellow Waters Billabong. Overnight at Gagudju Lodge Cooinda. (Meals included: breakfast, dinner).

Day 4 - Kakadu to Mt Borradaile
This morning enjoy an early morning walk along the Cooinda water front. Visit Bowali Visitors Centre and learn about the management of the park, its flora, fauna and cultural significance of the park. Visit Ubirr World Heritage cultural site, see ancient rock art galleries and take in spectacular views over the wetlands. With special permission from the traditional owners, travel deep into the Aboriginal reserve of Arnhemland. Join a special billabong sunset cruise with drinks & nibbles, spot crocodiles as they begin to hunt for food in the twilight, see birdlife and absorb the serenity of the wetlands. Overnight at Mt Borradaile Safari Camp. (Meals included: breakfast, dinner).

Day 5 - Mt Borradaile to Kakadu
For those who wish, there will be an opportunity to try their hand at barramundi fishing this morning with a guide. Tour the near region by 4WD, cruise the waterways in search of wildlife and birdlife and trek to the famed Mt Borradaile.This will be sure to remain a most memorable experience. Day 6 - Kakadu to Darwin
Depart Kakadu National Park, see giant termite mounds, visit Fogg Dam, renowned for it plentiful birdlife and enjoy panoramic views over the wetlands from Windows on the Wetlands visitors centre. Reach Darwin mid afternoon. During May-Oct. there is an opportunity to visit the famed Mindil Beach sunset markets. Overnight at the Saville Pandanas Hotel Darwin. (Meals included: breakfast).

Day 7 - Darwin
Travel to Litchfield National Park. Enjoy the opportunity to swim at Wangi Falls, then after a short walk see the water cascade into a deep gorge at Tolmer Falls. See the twin waterfall at Florence Falls from a high advantage point then explore the unusual magnetic termite mounds. Alternatively you may choose to spend the day at leisure in Darwin. This morning travel to Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve. See the bird life of this region and learn about traditional lifestyles. Continue to Wyndham to the 5 Rivers Lookout, then visit Warriu Park to see the Dreamtime Statues and rock art. This afternoon travel to the outback station of El Questro. A million acres in size, El Questro is located on the eastern perimeter of the Kimberley region, and extends for approximately 80 kilometres into the heart of the region. Day 6 - El Questro
Cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, abounded by tropical vegetation. At Emma Gorge Resort there is time to sit by the pool or to hike into Emma Gorge for a refreshing swim. Overnight at the Emma Gorge Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 7 - El Questro to Halls Creek
A highlight of today’s travels is a visit the Lirrgan Argyle Diamond Mine for a guided tour of the world’s largest diamond mine. After your visit, continue your journey south to Halls Creek. Overnight at the Kimberley Hotel, Halls Creek. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 8 - Halls Creek to Fitzroy Crossing
Travel to the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing. Today’s highlight is an afternoon cruise through spectacular Geikie Gorge, here 350 million year old fossils are clearly and easily seen throughout the gorge and sheer yellow, ochre and grey limestone walls house deep gorges, which are reflected in the pools of the river. Overnight at the Fitzroy River Lodge at Fitzroy Crossing. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Day 9 - Derby to Broome
Travel to the port of Derby and see the famous Boab Prison Tree, this symbol of inhumanity is 14m wide and has an opening or ‘doorway’ 1m wide, 2m high, capable of holding a number of prisoners, it was used by police during the 1890s as a lock up for Aboriginal prisoners on their way to Derby for sentencing. Continuing your journey to Broome, see Chinatown and Streeters Jetty. Overnight at the Cable Beach Club Resort, Broome. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 10 - Broome
A day of leisure in tropical Broome. Directly opposite the hotel is Cable Beach, so this a day to relax, stroll on the world famous twenty two kilometres of pristine white sand, swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean and at the end of the day & take in a glorious sunset. Overnight at the Cable Beach Club Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 11 - Broome to Port Hedland
Continuing south, skirt the edge of the Great Sandy Desert to Port Hedland, a major shipping outlet for the mineral rich Pilbara region. Overnight at the Hospitality Inn, Port Hedland. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 12 - Port Hedland to Newman
Today you leave Port Hedland and travel via Marble Bar to Karijini and the Heartland of the Pilbara region. Overnight at Karijini Eco Retreat (Deluxe Eco Tents with ensuite facilities) (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 13 - Karijini National Park
Continue to explore Karijini National Park, the second largest national park in Western Australia and one of the most spectacular sights in the Pilbara, with breathtaking gorges, crystal clear rock pools, waterfalls, and stunning scenery. Overnight at the Windawarri Lodge, Tom Price. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Day 14 - North West Cape
Today visit Giralia Station, an area with many different species of flora and fauna. This afternoon travel to Exmouth, situated on the boundary of the Ningaloo Marine Park. Overnight at the Potshot Hotel Resort, Exmouth. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Day 15 - Ningaloo Reef
Travel to Coral Bay, a quaint seaside town and join a sub-sea viewer over the Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia’s largest coral reef. Observe the abundance of marine life that inhabit these tropical waters and marvel at the brilliant display of colourful coral formations. Continue to Monkey Mia. Overnight at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 16 - Monkey Mia
Walk to the beach this morning where dolphins come into shore. These wild mammals of the ocean swim into the shallows to mingle with people. (Note: As dolphins are wild their appearance cannot be guaranteed.). Overnight at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. (Meals included: Breakfast).

Day 17 - Monkey Mia to Kalbarri
This morning visit Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of Stromatolites. The dome shaped structures reach up to 60cm in height and a spectacular sight to see. You will also visit Shell Beach, formed from billions of shells up to ten metres deep, and visit Kalbarri National Park. Overnight at the All Seasons Geraldton. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 18 - Kalbarri to Perth
Visit Nambung National Park to view the spectacular, mystical Pinnacles, and then continue to Yanchep National Park where you will enjoy an Aboriginal cultural experience. Here you will meet Aboriginal guides who will share with you their way of life in a traditional community. Continue to Perth for your overnight stay. Overnight at the Travelodge Perth. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 19 - End of Tour
After breakfast enjoy a guided tour of the highlights of Perth. You will be transferred to Perth Airport to connect with your onward flight. (Meals included: Breakfast)

Day 1 - Arrive Perth
Arrive in Perth and transfer to your hotel. Discover the city of Perth on a town tour, you will see rare Australian animals at the Karakamia Sanctuary and meet your fellow travellers at a Welcome Dinner. Overnight at the Novotel Langley Hotel. (Meals included: Dinner).

Day 2 - Perth to Hyden
Cross the tall jarrah forests of the Darling Ranges to the township of York. Enjoy a tour around this fascinating township before continuing to Hyden. You will stop to marvel at the natural wonder of Wave Rock, looking just like a giant breaking wave. Overnight at the Wave Rock Hotel. (Meals included: Breakfast, dinner).

Day 3 - Hyden to Kalgoorlie
Travel east to Coolgardie, where you can enjoy the freedom to choose between touring Coolgardie’s Pharmacy Museum or the fascinating Gold Museum. Afterwards travel to Kalgoorlie and visit Australia’s Golden Mile, the world’s richest square mile of earth. Overnight at the All Seasons Plaza Hotel, Kalgoorlie. Day 4 - Kalgoorlie to Esperance
This morning you can choose your sightseeing excursion, choices include a tour of Hannan’s goldmine, panning for gold or a visit to the Hall of Fame museum. Day 5 - Esperance to Albany
