The Australian Government has introduced an Environmental Management Charge for all visitors to the Great Barrier Reef. This includes reef cruises, diving and island stays and is charged per person per day and is payable either direct or is included in tour costs as noted. Hot Air Balloon Flight

Your balloon is inflated in the still of the morning, then you climb aboard for an exhilarating flight and uninterrupted views of magnificent scenery. Barron River White Water Rafting

Depart your hotel and travel north through the Mossman Valley to the Daintree River. Cross the river by cable barge and continue through pristine rainforest. Continue north to Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets the sea and coconut trees line an unspoiled beach. Nearby is the Valley of the Palms, one hundred acres of natural palm forest. A picnic lunch is served and you can swim in the sea. After, return to the Daintree River for a one hour cruise to view the wildlife that inhabits Mossman Gorge and there is time for a swim. Great Northern Safari (Eco Touring)

Travel inland stopping at several wetland areas and visit Laura township. Take a 4WD access road to your bush camp, "Jowalbinna". Spend two nights here and a day of hiking through sandstone escarpment country to view Aboriginal art sites - some dating back 40,000 years. Your guide will offer interpretation of the sights. Day three takes you into Lakefield National Park to view crocodiles, dingoes, kangaroos and many birds. Continue to Cooktown where you overnight. Your last day is spent exploring Cooktown - the site of the first European settlement. Head south along the coast stopping at Black Mountain, Lions Den and Bloomfield Falls. The road is 4WD only and offers excellent views of the coastline. After crossing the Daintree River, stop at Mossman Gorge for some light hiking and swimming before returning to Cairns at sunset.
