Your Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Sat. Riverina District
Depart Melbourne, 184 Swanston Walk or Sydney, Mercure Hotel, 7.20 a.m.
(Free courtesy pick-up from major central hotels). Camp: Narrandera, on
the shores of Lake Talbot.
Day 2 Sun. Sunraysia, Renmark (BLD)
Travel via Mildura, heart of Sunraysia to Renmark. Camp tonight on the
banks of the Murray River.
Day 3 Mon. Spear Creek Station (BD)
Experience a taste of true Australia today at Spear Creek Cattle and Sheep
Station. Tour the property in 4-wheel drive vehicles viewing kangaroos,
emus and some of the 4000 sheep and 200 cattle. Camp: Spear Creek Station.
Day 4 Tue. Coober Pedy, Opals (BD)
Our drive takes us north to the opal-mining town of Coober Pedy. Opals
were first discovered here in 1915 and today sees thousands of mines in
the area. Enjoy the sights including a visit to an underground home, church
and opal mine. Accommodation: Umoona Mine, underground dug-outs.
Day 5 Wed. Uluru (Ayers Rock), Sunset Drinks (BLD)
Our destination today is the desert lands of the Northern Territory. After
we've set-up camp, travel out to sunset strip for pre-dinner drinks while
witnessing a magnificent sunset over Uluru. Camp: Ayers Rock Resort for
2 nights.
Day 6 Thur. Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (Olgas)

A chance to climb Uluru early morning and stand 350 metres above the vast
Australian Outback. Explore around the base, see Aboriginal rock art and
caves before driving out to Kata Tjuta.
Day 7 Fri. Watarrka (Kings Canyon) National Park
(BLD)
Be entranced by the beauty of Watarrka (Kings Canyon) National Park today.
Climb to the plateau for views of towering orange walls, then down into
the 'Garden of Eden' waterhole, surrounded by lush palms. Camp: Kings
Canyon Resort.
Day 8 Sat. Standley Chasm (BLD)
By local permit, travel through Aboriginal land to Hermannsburg. See the
colourful cleft of Standley Chasm as we tour the West MacDonnell Ranges
and the School of the Air in Alice Springs. Camp: Alice Springs, Red Centre
Resort for 2 nights.
Day 9 Sun. Alice Springs (B)
Today is free to explore at leisure. Perhaps take the opportunity to greet
the early morning with a hot air-balloon flight over the ranges (own expense).
Day 10 Mon. Devils Marbles (BLD)
Wander the Devils Marbles, an unusual scattering of boulders in the desert
landscape. Bush Camp: Daly Waters.
Day 11 Tue. Katherine Gorge Cruise (BD)
Visit the delightful little town of Katherine and School of the Air before
heading into Nitmiluk National Park. Enjoy a guided cruise in Katherine
Gorge and learn of the plants and wildlife, which inhabit the gorges.
At nightfall stay within the park, kangaroos emerge and wander freely
through our camp. Camp: Nitmiluk National Park.
Day 12 Wed. Kakadu National Park (BLD)
Enter World Heritage Kakadu National Park. Visit Warradjan Cultural Centre,
Gunlom Falls and Bowali Visitor Centre. Camp tonight in the heart of Kakadu
National Park.
Day 13 Thur. East Alligator River Cruise, Ubirr Rock
Aboriginal Art Site (BL)
Join local Aboriginal guides for a cruise along the majestic East Alligator
River, stopping on Arnhem Land to learn about Aboriginal culture, mythology
and their traditional way of life (subject to road conditions). Visit
Ubirr Rock, rich in Aboriginal rock paintings, and the Bowali Visitor
Centre. Accommodation: Darwin, Mirambeena Tourist Resort for 2 nights.
Day 14 Fri. At Leisure in Darwin
Today is free to enjoy the delights of Darwin.
Day 15 Sat. Darwin
Depart tour after breakfast.

Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Perth
You will be met on arrival at Perth Airport and transferred to your hotel
by luxury car. Remainder of the day at leisure. Accommodation: Grand Chancellor
(standard), Novotel Langley (first class) or Parmelia Hilton (deluxe),
3 nights.
Day 2: Rottnest Island
Enjoy a leisurely journey downstream to North Fremantle, before continuing
on to Rottnest Island. Join the Underwater Explorer, a glass bottom boat
to explore shipwrecks and reefs (weather permitting). A leisurely buffet
lunch at Rottnest Lodge is included before a tour of the island and time
at leisure. Return to Perth late afternoon. (BL)
Day 3: Margaret River - South West
Travel south to the Eagle Heritage Raptor Wildlife Centre to see and handle
birds of prey. Enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling hills and vineyards
to Sandalford Winery. Later visit Mammoth Cave, the mouth of the Margaret
River and Boranup Karri Forest, before returning to Perth. (B)
Day 4: Depart Perth
You will be transferred by taxi to Perth Airport to connect with your
onward flight.
