Leaving Sydney at 8.30 a.m., travel south to Canberra and the top of Mount
Ainslie for sweeping views over the National Capital. Enjoy a guided walking
tour through Parliament House, one of Australia's most acclaimed buildings,
then to the National Capital Exhibition and historic War Memorial. Drive
around the colourful embassies, many of which have styled on the architecture
of their native countries. Overnight Canberra, Rydges Hotel for 1 night.
Day 2 Thu. Kosciuszko National Park, Historical Beechworth

Enter Kosciuszko National Park, the largest national park in New South
Wales and head to Thredbo, Australia's premier alpine resort. This beautiful
park included the continent's most significant alpine region and contains
its highest mountains. Continue along the precipitous Alpine Way where
we may see kangaroos roaming in their natural habitat. Head in to the
historical town of Beechworth, situated at the base of the foothills.
This once prosperous gold-mining town boasts many elegant buildings from
this affluent time. Overnight Beechworth. Carriage Motor Inn for 1 night.
Day 3 Fri. Beechworth Guided Tour, Brown Brother's
Winery, Melbourne (B)
This morning there is an informative guided tour of Beechworth followed
by billy tea and damper, then an opportunity of an optional carriage ride
(at own expense) around town. Later enjoy free time in this beautifully
preserved gold town, entirely classified by the National Trust. Continue
to the vineyard region and visit Brown Brother's Winery for a tasting
of their world-class award-winning wines. Tours concludes on arrival into
Melbourne at about 6.00.p.m.

of spectacular coastal scenery as we travel the 320 kilometres along Victoria's

Day 2 Mon. Mt. Gambier, Adelaide (B)
Continue along the scenic coastal road through Port Fairy and over the
South Australian border to Mt. Gambier. Visit the Blue Lake, famous for
its vivid blue colour during summer, then through the wine-growing region
surrounding Coonawarra. Overnight: Adelaide, Hindley Parkroyal.
Day 3 Tue. Hahndorf, Granite Island, Kangaroo Island

Leaving Adelaide this morning, we stop to visit the quaint german-style
town of Hahndorf. Our drive then takes us south through almond groves
and vineyards on the Fleurieu Peninsula to Victor Harbor. Take a horse-drawn
tram to Granite Island before joining our cruise to Kangaroo Island, a
delightful display of nature in its purest form. Overnight: Kangaroo Island,
Ozone Seafront Hotel for 2 nights.
Day 4 Wed. Seal Bay, Flinders Chase National Park,
Little Penguins (BLD)
Join a guided tour at Seal Bay, walking amongst a colony of rare sea lions
as they bask in the sun. See a variety of wildlife at Flinders Chase National
Park and the "Remarkable Rocks". Witness the Little Penguins tonight as
they parade across the rocks to their burrows.

Today we explore the rugged Blue Mountains National Park. Visit Echo Point
for sweeping views of the Three Sisters, Jamison Valley, Scenic Railway
and Skyway, soaring high above Cox's Crossing. Continue to the Australian
Wildlife Park where you can have your photo taken with a koala, hand-feed
kangaroos and see other Australian fauna and flora.
Day 4 Wed. Sydney, Canberra City Tour (BD)
Depart Sydney. Drive south through Goulbourn, one of Australia's premier
sheep and wool producing areas. Journey on to Canberra, Australia's modern
capital city and upon arrival, we make our way to the top of Mount Ainslie
for spectacular view of the national capital. Enjoy a guided walking tour
of Parliament House and the Parliamentary Triangle, one of Australia's
most acclaimed buildings, then to the National Capital Exhibition at Regatta
Point and historic War Memorial. Drive around the colourful embassies,

may wish to sample some of their world-famous and award-winning wines.
Continue on to Melbourne, a city of gracious architecture and beautiful

Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Wed: Sydney - Canberra
Depart Sydney at 8.00am and travel south through Berrima and Goulburn
to Canberra. Enjoy a barbecue lunch at a nearby sheep station. See sheep
mustering, sheep shearing and boomerang throwing. This afternoon view
the sights of Canberra including the Prime Minister's Lodge, the Embassies,
the High Court of Australia and a guided tour of Parliament House. This
evening join your Tour Director and travelling companions for a welcome

Day 2 Thu: Snowy Mountains
Travel to Cooma this morning, gateway to the Snowy Mountains. Pass Lake
Jindabyne and enter Kosciusko National Park. Continue to Thredbo Village
via the picturesque Alpine Way. Meet 'Lazy Harry' on your arrival into
Beechworth. A highlight of your stay is the horse drawn carriage as it
collects you from your homestay for an enjoyable journey to the centre
of Beechworth. Tonight you can join our optional fine dining experience
at the Bank Restaurant, the original Bank of Australasia built in 1856

Day 3 Fri: Historic Beechworth - Winery Tour
Time to explore this historical town before being entertained by Lazy
Harry at the Town Hall Gardens historical rotunda. Enjoy a short tour
of the town before departing for Rutherglen. Here we visit All Saints
Estate established in 1864, for a tour, tastings and lunch. Continue through
'Ned kelly' country before arriving in Melbourne late afternoon. Accommodation:

Day 4 Sat: Melbourne at leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure in Melbourne with an opportunity to do some shopping
or personal sightseeing. Special discounts are available on any of our
Melbourne Day Tours. Perhaps visit Phillip Island and see the famous Penguin

Day 5 Sun: Great Ocean Road
See incredible coastal scenery as you travel along the Great Ocean Road
today. View the amazing rock formations in Port Campbell National Park,
including the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. Accommodation:

Day 6 Mon: Portland - Mt. Gambier
Discover the history of the Shipwreck Coast at Flagstaff Hill Maritime
Museum this morning. Continue to the fishing villages of Port Fairy and
Portland. Enter South Australia and on to Mt. Gambier. See the fabulous
Blue Lake situated in an extinct volcano. Accommodation: International

Day 7 Tue: Robe - Hahndorf - Adelaide
After a guided tour of Tantanoola Caves, we rejoin the coastline. Skirt
Lakes Albert and Alexandrina at the mouth of the Murray River. Visit Hahndorf
and enter Adelaide through the picturesque Mt. Lofty Ranges. Accommodation:

Day 8 Wed: Adelaide Sightseeing
This morning enjoy a tour of the 'City of Churches'. See the beautiful
gardens, parks and fine buildings of North Terrace. This afternoon is

Day 9 Thu: Barossa Valley
Discover Australia's finest wine country as we take you to the famous
Barossa Valley. Travel the scenic route via the chain of ponds to the
Whispering Wall. Walk the Whispering Wall and share this incredible experience.
Explore the historical town of Tanunda and visit Richmond Grove Winery
established in 1897. Enjoy a light lunch consisting of local South Australian
produce. Travel via Nuriootpa to Mengler Hill Lookout for spectacular
panoramic views. Visit the Angas Park Fruit Centre renowned for its dried
fruit and confectionery. Continue on to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop. Enjoy
tasting her range of products before making our way to the Resort. Accommodation:

Day 10 Fri: Barossa Valley - Swan Hill
Leaving the Barossa Valley, we travel to Renmark, a proud river town founded
in 1887 where we stop for morning tea. Cross the Victorian border into
the Sunraysia district to Mildura. Enjoy a city tour including famous
Lock II. After lunch, cross the mighty Murray River at Robinvale, following
the Murray Valley Highway south to the prosperous town of Swan Hill. Accommodation:

Day 11 Sat: Echuca - Wagga Wagga
Depart Swan Hill for the historic river port of Echuca. Relive the riverboat
era at Echuca, once Australia's busiest inland port. Board an authentic
paddlesteamer for your river cruise. Time to explore the spirit of yesteryear
as you browse through this historic port, once the setting of the series
'All The Rivers Run'. Depart along the Newell Highway via Jerilderie to
Wagga Wagga, a Riverina centre for business, agriculture, industry and

Day 12 Sun: Blue Mountains - Sydney
Enjoy a delightful scenic drive through the mid-western New South Wales
towns of Cootamundra and Cowra. Continue through Bathurst, Katoomba and
the picturesque Blue Mountains to Sydney. See the spectacular Three Sisters
and Jamieson Valley. Continue to Sydney, arriving at approximately 6.00pm.
