Welcomed on arrival for transfer to hotel. The rest of the afternoon is
free to relax before meeting your fellow travellers for a special welcome

Day 2 Mon. Fitzroy Island, Great Barrier Reef, Coral-Viewing
(BL)
The beauty of the Great Barrier Reef is a sight to behold. Cruise to the
national park of Fitzroy Island then on to Moore Reef. The afternoon is
yours to swim and snorkel or ride in the glass-bottom boat over the colourful
coral gardens.
Day 3 Tue. Kuranda, Port Douglas (BD)
Join the Kuranda Train winding up the mountain range, passing waterfalls
and through 15 tunnels. Visit Rainforestation, see the Pamagirri Aboriginal
Dancers, join a Dreamtime Walk and visit the wildlife enclosure. In the
afternoon we follow the scenic coastline before turning inland to Daintree
National Park, and Mossman Gorge. Continue to Port Douglas and experience
the casual atmosphere of northern Queensland as you relax with pre-dinner
drinks and canapes in one of the Tree Houses at the resort. Overnight:
Port Douglas, Radisson Treetops Resort. Tonight is our millennium celebration.

Day 4 Wed. Skyrail, Dunk Island (BD)
Join the Skyrail Cableway this morning over lush World Heritage rainforest
to Kuranda. See the fascinating Curtain Fig Tree, enjoy a guided wildlife
cruise on Lake Barrine and visit Millaa Millaa Falls. Continue to Mission
Beach where a short cruise brings us to Dunk Island, one of the most beautiful
Barrier Reef islands. Overnight: Dunk Island Resort for 2 nights, Banfield

Day 5 Thur. At Leisure on Dunk Island (B)
Today is yours to relax and discover all that Dunk has to offer. Join
a guided walk to view orchids and native flowers, take a stroll through

DAY 1 Mon. Sydney, Coffs Harbour (D)
Join tour in Sydney, Mercure Hotel 8.30 a.m. Today we take the Pacific
Highway and head north along the scenic coast of New South Wales, to the
subtropical town of Coffs Harbour. On arrival, take a short tour of the
region, made famous for its banana plantations. Tonight, enjoy a special
Welcome Dinner courtesy of Travelmarvel. Accommodation: Coffs Harbour,
Country Comfort.
DAY 2 Tue. Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise (B)
Following the coast, travel to the town of Ballina and on to Cape Byron,
Australia's most easterly point. The cape marks the theoretical division
between temperate New South Wales and subtropical northern Australia.
We visit Byron Bay, then continue through the lush Tweed River Valley
to Tweed Heads and Coolangatta, before arriving at Surfers Paradise on
the magnificent Gold Coast. Tonight you can visit Jupiters Casino. Accommodation:
Gold Coast, Novotel Beachcomber, in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
DAY 3 Wed. Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Noosa Heads,
Fraser Island (BD)
Today we arrive in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. Continue to the
beautiful Sunshine Coast and stop at Noosa Heads, an area renowned for
its natural scenery. This afternoon, we travel north to River Heads for
a scenic cruise to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. Accommodation:
Fraser Island, Eurong Beach Resort (2 nights).
DAY 4 Thur. Fraser Island 4WD Tour (B)
Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and boasts beautiful
freshwater lakes and tangled rainforests. Today, explore the island with
a local guide in a 4-wheel drive vehicle, viewing the Maheno shipwreck
and Eli Creek, which pours millions of litres of freshwater into the Pacific
Ocean every hour, and see the coloured sands at The Cathedrals. The remainder
of the day is free to relax or further explore.
DAY 5 Fri. Seasonal Whale Watching, Tropic of Capricorn,
Rockhampton (BD)
Between August and October, watch for Humpback Whales on our cruise back
to the mainland. Cross the Tropic of Capricorn before arriving at Rockhampton,
a town steeped in history and known as the 'beef capital' of Queensland.
In Rockhampton, visit the Botanic Gardens, one of the finest tropical
gardens in Australia.
DAY 6 Sat. Mackay, Airlie Beach, Shute Harbour, Daydream
Island (BD)
We continue north through a sea of sugarcane fields to Mackay, Australia's
'sugar capital' where one third of the nation's sugar crop is produced.
Pass through Airlie Beach overlooking the Whitsunday Passage en route
to Shute Harbour. From Shute Harbour, a short cruise across blue-green
waters takes us to Daydream Island where we spend two relaxing nights.

DAY 7 Sun. Discover Daydream Island (B)
Today has been left free to allow you to relax on this beautiful island
paradise. Daydream offers many recreational activities for your enjoyment:
an optional Outer Barrier Reef cruise or a cruise through the Whitsundays
visiting some of the resort islands, which feature in this region. Perhaps
enjoy a stroll across the island, have a game of tennis or simply relax
by the pool.
DAY 8 Mon. Townsville, Mission Beach (B)
Today, return to the mainland, rejoin the coach and travel to Townsville,
Australia's largest tropical city. Enjoy stunning coastal scenery and
views of Hinchinbrook Island whilst travelling to Cardwell, a charming
little town nestled between rugged coastal mountains and the tropical
ocean. Accommodation: Mission Beach, Castaways Beach Resort, situated
right on the beach.
DAY 9 Tue. Millaa Millaa Falls, Mareeba, Curtain

A stop at Crawford's Lookout allows us to enjoy magnificent sweeping views
over the North Johnstone River. We visit the secluded Millaa Millaa Falls,
then travel through dairy, peanut and tobacco towns at the edge of the
Atherton Plateau. See the amazing Curtain Fig Tree, a spectacular example
of Strangler Fig. Visit Lake Barrine, a picturesque volcanic crater surrounded
by lush rainforest. A cruise on Lake Barrine is available, during which
you can learn about the flora and fauna of the area (own expense). Later
this afternoon, continue to the resort town of Port Douglas. Accommodation:

DAY 10 Wed. Rainforestation, Pamagirri Aboriginal
Dancers, Cairns (B)
We follow the coastal road stopping at Rex Lookout for views of the Coral
Sea and stunning tropical beaches. Then, on arrival at Rainforestation,
we are treated to a performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers on
a stage set in the rainforest. Join an Aboriginal Dreamtime Walk to learn
about this ancient culture, and visit the wildlife enclosure to see many
Australian native animals. There's even the opportunity to have your photograph
taken with a koala (own expense). On arrival in Cairns, we take a short
orientation tour of the city. Accommodation: Cairns, Mercure Harbourside
Hotel (3 nights).
DAY 11 Thur. Fitzroy Island, Outer Barrier Reef Cruise,
Semi-submersible (BL)
Today, see one of the world's most magnificent natural beauties, the Great
Barrier Reef. Board a luxury air-conditioned catamaran to Fitzroy Island
where there's free time to explore, then continue to the Outer Barrier
Reef. At the reef, view the colourful coral from a semi-submersible craft
and glass-bottom boat, or you might like to take a closer look by snorkelling.
A guided snorkelling tour and a delicious buffet lunch featuring fresh
seafood, meats, salads, cheeses, desserts and fresh tropical fruits, are
both included. Tonight has been left free to allow you to enjoy one of
the many fine restaurants in Cairns by yourself.

Today, travel to Kuranda, the 'Village in the Rainforest', and visit the
markets to browse the colourful stalls before returning to Cairns late
in the afternoon. An alternative to travelling to Kuranda by coach, is
to take the Kuranda Scenic Train, one of the world's most spectacular
train journeys, winding its way to Kuranda past waterfalls and through
lush rainforest (own expense). An alternative journey is also available
in the afternoon, returning you to Cairns via the Skyrail, skimming over
the dense canopy of the Barron Gorge National Park rainforest whilst enjoying
views out over the Coral Sea and Green Island (own expense). Tonight,
enjoy our special Farewell Dinner.

Time for last minute shopping or sightseeing before your transfer to Cairns

We travel through Aboriginal land to Hermannsburg. See the colourful cleft

This morning we make our way to Normanton and board the Gulflander train

This morning a Savannah Guide will take us through a section of the ancient
lava tubes, created some 190 000 years ago. Tour the Atherton Tablelands

Great island experiences continue as we drive north through the mango
plantations surrounding Bowen to an area rich in sugar cane and rice farms.
A stop is made in the tropical city of Townsville before arriving at Mission
Beach. Enjoy this beautiful island home for the next 2 nights on tropical

the rainforest on an amphibious Army Duck. Enjoy a tropical barbecue lunch
before being transferred back to Kuranda to board the Kuranda train. This

Day 12 Mon: Tjapukai
Today we visit the internationally famous Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural
Park. Experience the History, Creation and Dance Theatre where the legends
of the Dreamtime are brought to life. Passengers joining the M.V Reef
Endeavour (Tour Code: QSCB) depart the tour at midday and are transferred
to Trinity Wharf. For the remaining passengers, the afternoon is free
to do some last minute shopping or relax by the pool. Tonight is our final
get-together and we enjoy a poolside dinner at the hotel. (BD)
Day 13 Tue: Depart Cairns
Your tour concludes in Cairns mid-morning. You will be transferred to
the airport to connect with your onward flight. (B)

Join the Reef Endeavour this afternoon. Sail to Fitzroy Island. Meet your

Day 13 Tue: Cooktown - Two Isles
Today call into historic Cooktown and visit the tiny coral cay known as
'Two Isles' (weather permitting). (BLD)
Day 14 Wed: Lizard Island
Enjoy breakfast as we arrive at Lizard Island. Stroll along sandy white
beaches, snorkel or dive with brilliantly coloured fish and giant clam
gardens close to shore or climb the island peak for spectacular Barrier
Reef views. (BLD)
Day 15 Thu: Outer Great Barrier Reef
After breakfast we arrive at Ribbon Reef where you can snorkel, dive or
accompany the Marine Naturalist in the glass bottom boat. Tonight enjoy
the Captain's Dinner Dance. (BLD)
Day 16 Fri: Arrive Cairns - Depart
We arrive at Cairns' Trinity Wharf at approximately 8.00am. You will be
transferred to the airport to connect with your onward flight. (B)
