Your Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1. Hobart.
This morning we’ll satisfy even the most ardent ‘chocoholic’ with a visit
to the Cadbury Chocolate Factory followed by a chance to tour the Cascade
Brewery. We’ll then take in spectacular panoramic views of Hobart and
the Derwent River from the top of Mount Wellington. This evening why not
chance your luck at Australia’s first casino - Wrest Point, before hitting
Hobart’s nightspots. Hotel
Day 2. Hobart.
This morning we visit Hobart’s Salamanca Markets to experience the creativity
of local artists and craftsmen. We’ll then recapture Hobart’s convict
past on a guided walking tour. Then A chance for a bicycle ride down Mount
Nelson via Sandy Bay and Battery Point. Free time tonight to sample local
cuisine. Hotel
Day 3. Hobart to Strahan.
This morning we visit Mt. Field National Park and Russell Falls before
continuing west through the King William Ranges, stopping at Lake St.
Clair National Park. Experience the eerie hills around the lunar-like
landscape of the mining town of Queenstown before continuing onto the
pretty town of Strahan, the only port on the west coast of Tasmania. Tonight
look across the flickering lights and fishing boats of Macquarie Harbour.

Day 4. Strahan to Cradle Mountain National Park.
This morning why not cruise across Macquarie Harbour via Hell’s Gate and
Sarah Island? Or, you may choose to take a scenic flight by seaplane over
this World Heritage wilderness. We’ll head to the historic mining town
of Zeehan and then across the highlands to reach our accommodation near
Cradle Mountain National Park. Lodge (B,D)
Day 5. Cradle Mountain to Launceston.
This morning we explore this magnificent national treasure. Visit the
Rangers Information Centre where you can obtain geological and historical
information about the park before making our way to Dove Lake for a walk.
We’ll then make our way toward the major city of Launceston. A stop at
Brady’s Lookout for spectacular views of the Tamar Valley, before our
opportunity to sample the local wines at St. Matthias Vineyard. Hotel

Day 6. Launceston to East Coast.
There is time this morning to try hang gliding and hiking in the Cataract
Gorge before leaving Launceston for the tiny village of Bicheno. Arriving
at Freycinet National Park, we’ll climb to the lookout over spectacular
Wine Glass Bay. Plenty of time to then have a game of tennis or squash
& a swim in the pool at our resort. Tonight have a drink or two with the
locals in the Seafront Tavern. Hotel (B,D)
Day 7. East Coast to Port Arthur.
After breakfast we take a trip across to Maria Island, one of Tasmania’s
early penal colonies, now a historic National Park. Here we’ll have the
chance to see pademelons, wallabies and Cape Barren Geese. Onward to the
Tasman Peninsular with Tasman Arch, Eaglehawk Neck, once home to marauding
mastiffs and interestingly named Doo Town. After dinner why not experience
a lamplit ghost tour of Port Arthur. Hotel (B,D)
Day 8. Port Arthur to Hobart.
Start the day with a fascinating guided tour of the original convict settlement
at Port Arthur. We then head to historic Richmond with Australia’s oldest
bridge and the oldest Catholic church. This afternoon we visit a local
wildlife park before returning to Hobart where our tour will end (B)
