Your Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1. Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock).
This morning we’ll take in the sights of Alice Springs, including Anzac Hill, the Old Telegraph Station and the Royal Flying Doctor’s Service. Then we’re on our way to Yulara and Uluru National Park. We’ll set up camp and enjoy a ‘get to know you’ drink. (D)

Day 2. Uluru National Park.
Today we’ll explore one of the ancient icons of the world - Ayers Rock! We’ll rise early to watch the sun rise over the rock and the changing colours of the desert. Then we’ll consider climbing the rock if you’re game. After the climb, we’ll visit the Cultural Centre to get a better understanding of why this area is so significant to the indigenous people. A base walk will give you great views of Aboriginal rock art and an optional helicopter, plane or harley davidson ride will round off the day quite nicely. The day ends as it began, with the glowing sunburnt colours of Uluru. (B)

Day 3. Uluru National Park to Kings Canyon.
An early morning walk around Kata Tjuta will complete our visit to Uluru National Park. We’ll then travel to Kings Creek Station next to Watarrka National Park and Kings Canyon. In the afternoon you’ll have the chance to explore the vast station on quad bikes, or perhaps by camel! (B,D)

Day 4. Kings Canyon to Palm Valley.
This morning we’ll hike through Kings Canyon. We’ll make our way to the top of the Canyons ridge and discover the ‘Lost City’ and the ‘Garden of Eden’. We’ll then travel along the remote Mereenie Loop Road, which passes through Aboriginal land. We then head along the rocky, sandy bed of the Finke River to Palm Valley for our overnight bush camp. (B,L,D)

Day 5. Palm Valley to Alice Springs.
A morning walk will take us through Palm Valley named because of the colonies of red cabbage palms found no where else in the world. We’ll explore the amphitheatre before heading through Hermannsburg. We’ll pass Gosse Bluff on our way to Ormiston Gorge where we’ll stop to stretch our legs and take some photographs. We’ll wind our way through the Western Macdonnell Ranges and into Alice Springs where our tour will end late afternoon. (B,L)
