AMTRAK RAIL TRAVEL

There is something very special about taking the train and in America it is no different. From its start with 23 miles of railroad track in 1830 through to its peak of 254,000 miles, which was reached in 1916, it is not so much the arrival that matters, but the getting there.

As it was the railway that originally linked this vast country together in the first place it is still embodied in the country to this day and we are pleased to offer the services of Amtrak - the National Passenger Railroad Corporation, operating passenger rail service throughout the USA.

Amtrak provides a huge variety of rail services over it's large network, from the fast and frequent services linking the bustling cities of the north-east to the more sedate long distance Superliners which traverse the vast open plains and the magnificent Rockies.

The introduction of new technologies and modernisation gave rise to Amtrak's modern double decker Superliner railcars and single level Viewliner railcars. Amtrak continues to take the train into the new Millennium with the introduction of high-speed Acela services, which link Washington DC, New York City and Boston.
