Alaska, Yukon & Glacier Bay - 15 Days

Day 1 Arrive in Anchorage

Arrive in Anchorage and transfer to your hotel (transfer not included). After checking in at your hotel the remainder of the day is free. Overnight at the Ramada Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Anchorage to Talkeetna (113 miles)

Collect your car this morning and begin your tour with a drive along the Glenn Highway, the Parks Highway and on the Talkeetna Spur Road to the small gold mining community of Talkeetna. Overnight Talkeetna at the Alaskan Lodge or similar.

Day 3 Talkeetna to Denali National Park (153 miles)

Enjoy some free time this morning before you drive the Talkeetna Spur Road back to the Parks Highway to continue north towards Denali. Drive through Denali State Park with its spectacular scenery. Overnight at the Denali Grizzly Bear Resort or similar.

Day 4 Denali National Park 

Today a 6-8 hour bus tour into Denali National Park is included. The park is inhabited by different animal species such as bears, caribou, moose, sheep, wolves and a variety of birds. Mt. McKinley can be seen if the weather is clear today.

(During shoulder season the duration of the bus tour may be shorter due to weather / road conditions).

Overnight at the Denali Grizzly Bear Resort or similar.

Day 5 Denali to Fairbanks (125 miles)

Today continue on the Parks Highway north to Fairbanks. Accompanied by incredible forest and mountain landscape you drive through the communities of Healy, Nenana and by the community Ester, an old mining camp. Overnight in Fairbanks at the Best Western Chena River Lodge or similar.

Day 6 Fairbanks 

A free day to explore Fairbanks and its surroundings. Overnight at the Best Western Chena River Lodge or similar.

Day 7 Fairbanks to Tok (206 miles)

Follow the Richardson & Alaska Highways east toward Tok. Just outside of Fairbanks you drive by North Pole, the home of North America's Santa Claus. Overnight at the Westmark Tok or similar.

Day 8 Tok to Dawson City (185 miles)

Drive the Alaska Highway to the Taylor Highway and continue on the Top of the World Highway to Canada/Yukon. Weather permitting you will see incredible views of far reaching countryside. Before you reach Dawson City, you cross the Yukon River by state ferry.  Overnight at the Westmark Inn Dawson City or similar.

Day 9 Dawson City 

Spend today exploring the Klondike goldfields and enjoy the old Gold Rush atmosphere of Dawson City. Overnight at the Westmark Inn Dawson City or similar.

Day 10 Dawson City to Whitehorse (333 miles)

Today you travel the Klondike Highway east to Yukon's capital city, Whitehorse. Part of the route follows the Yukon River. Overnight at the Westmark Whitehorse or similar.

Day 11 Whitehorse to Skagway (109 miles)

A scenic drive takes you to Skagway on the Klondike Highway south. Drive by Emerald Lake, and the small community of Carcross. Return your car on arrival in Skagway. Overnight Westmark Inn, Skagway or similar or similar.

Day 12 Skagway to Glacier Bay

Transfer to Skagway airport (not included) and take an early morning scheduled flight (see note) from Skagway to Gustavus. On arrival transfer to Glacier Bay Lodge/Bartlett Cove and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Glacier Bay Lodge in Gustavus. Dinner at lodge included.

Day 13 Gustavus to Juneau

Today you will take an 8-hour cruise into Glacier Bay National Park. Lunch on cruise included. in the early evening transfer to the airport and take a scheduled flight (see note) to Juneau. On arrival transfer (not included) to your hotel, the Goldbelt Hotel or similar.

Day 14 Juneau to Anchorage

A day at leisure in Juneau. In the late afternoon transfer to Juneau Airport (not included) to meet your scheduled flight (see note) to Anchorage**. On arrival in Anchorage transfer to your hotel, the Ramada or similar (transfer not included).

** Option available to fly from Juneau to Seattle today, details on request, a supplement will apply – see price panel.

Day 15 Anchorage Departure

Your tour ends with the check out from your hotel.

NOTE : INTERNAL FLIGHTS

The flights on days 12, 13 & 14 are on small aircraft with a restricted luggage allowance totalling 23kg per person. Additionally, each piece of luggage must weigh no more than 22 kg.
